Long Wharf Theatre hosts its annual drama class for

CELC Middle School and homeschooled students ages 9 – 14

Long Wharf Theatre and the Connecticut Experiential Learning Center Middle School invite you to join the 8th year of our collaboration! Each year combines theatre with a theme. Students learn acting techniques, make new friends, and devise an original piece to be performed for an audience. This year CELC explores Heritage, Ethnicity, and Quest for Freedom – this theme guides the creation process as we dig deeply into our family and cultural roots to better understand not only ourselves but also each other.

The Long Wharf Theatre Education team adapts a script generated from interviews, writing prompts, and experiential workshops with participants to create a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience.  Also included in this class are a backstage tour of Long Wharf Theatre’s performance and production spaces and access to the Student Theatre Series shows and supplementary materials.

All students should be ready to say “yes” to new experiences and to having a great time! Spots are limited, so sign up now!
