CELC’s Honoring Ceremony is a special time when students are recognized for their achievements and their year of learning and growth.

This year’s celebration took place at Cedar Island Marina, thanks to the family of graduate Nick, now moving on to The Sound School, where he will begin as a freshman Fall 2019.

It was exciting to see such a large gathering, which included current families, alumni, faculty, and many CELC friends in attendance. Students each spoke of the personal journey of learning, offering self-reflection, describing what the year meant. Music was performed, including songs composed by students and a complex percussion piece Variations on an Indian Tala that required concentration and team effort.

We have much to be grateful for in CELC’s tenth year. Thinking back to 2009 – year one of CELC – the community feels vibrant and alive!  CELC was formed by Maria and Melinda, yet has taken on a real life of its own!  It includes teachers who are part of the fabric and the many students and families who attribute CELC for shaping how they engage in the world.
