CELC 2015-16 the Old School Stony Creek, CTThe experiences at CT Experiential Learning Center Middle School (CELC) combine rich academics with field studies. CELC provides an educational environment that inspires learning in a personalized and meaningful way for young adolescents.

Students of CT Experiential Learning Center (CELC) of Branford collect winter clothing and gently-used toys to benefit students and families of the Lincoln Bassett School in New Haven, a K – 6th grade school that is changing from one of the most problematic to one that is starting to function successfully, thanks in part to its new principal Janet Brown-Clayton.

Students hosted a Living Gift Market where the public purchased “living gifts” – animals supplied by Heifer International that will go to families around the world to support Heifer’s mission to end hunger and poverty and care for the Earth.

Students begin a point-count study to monitor birds at Roger’s Mill Pond in North Branford with ornithologist Dr. Celia Lewis.

CELC students  work with Operations Manager Brian Warman, as he leads the group on an informative tour of the Mattabassett Wastewater Treatment Facility in Cromwell, Connecticut.
