CT Experiential Learning Center (CELC) Middle School students have a number of community service projects underway. We ask that you please contribute to any of the following efforts:Branford Community Dining Room

Students are collecting items for Branford’s Community Dining Room. Items needed include canned fruit, canned soup, canned broth, canned stew, canned tuna, canned beans.  All donations may be brought to 28 School Street by Friday, 18 December.

Additionally, CELC has a winter clothing drive and gently-used toy drive to benefit students and families of the Lincoln Bassett School in New Haven, a K – 6th grade school that is changing from one of the most problematic to one that is starting to function successfully, thanks to its new principal.

  • Winter clothing is needed for families who are not able to easily afford such items.
  • Donations of new and gently used toys are strictly for Lincoln Bassett students to be able to experience giving to others – they can choose from amongst the donated items and then give as a gift to a family member for the holidays. Donation bins are located in the lobby on the first floor, or come visit CELC’s classrooms on the 2nd floor!

Heifer International Living Gift Market

Help End Poverty with Your Holiday Shopping!

CT Experiential Learning Center Middle School students will once again host  a Living Gift Market Thursday, 10 December 2015 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.  at 28 School Street (2nd floor) in Branford.

All are welcome to join this celebration when the public can purchase “living gifts” – animals supplied by Heifer International that will go to families around the world to support Heifer’s mission to end hunger and poverty and care for the Earth.

CELC students will have information booths to describe how each animal benefits the families and villages around the world. You will leave with gift cards to honor family and friends with the purchase of any of these animals. All gift donations are tax deductible.

Also, Liz Ellis from Heifer International will give a presentation about Heifer’s work.

Live animals, music, and refreshments!

Share this event with all – far and wide throughout the world!
