CT Experiential Learning Center (CELC) middle school students spent the day at the Windham Textile and History Museum as part of a thematic study of Heritage, Ethnicity, and Quest for Freedom in America. Working with educator Bev York, the students gained an understanding of the American Thread Company’s mill operation from its start in the early 1800s until its eventual closing in 1985.  Through hands-on experience, students gained perspective about the lives of the immigrants and others whose lives surrounded this important historic site.
