Drama Classes

for students ages 10 – 14 with the Long Wharf Theater in New Haven, beginning October 2013

9-week session on Fridays (11, 18, 25 OCT; 1, 8, 15, 22 NOV; 6, 13 DEC) 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Long Wharf Drama

“Sustaining the Artist” at Long Wharf. Based on the theme of Ecology and Sustainability, this class will explore the fundamentals of acting and improvisation, elements and environment work, and Anne Bogart’s Viewpoints to provide students with new access points into creating a character and approaching a script. Students may choose to devise an original piece or work with an already published text.  In addition, all students will be asked to create a stage prop out of a recycled object for their sharing.

This fun and energetic class will allow students to utilize their imaginations and playfulness to revitalize their old habits and will culminate with a performative share for family and friends on December 13th.
